Once you’re ready, step outside to board one of our beautifully restored historic trolley cars for a scenic ride along the iconic Branford Electric Railway!

Children will love participating in the experience, as they help the Motorman prepare the trolley for its journey. During your ride, the operator will share insights about the trolleys in our collection, explaining how these incredible machines helped shape American cities and transportation as we know it today.

This leisurely adventure offers an escape from the fast pace of modern life, making it the perfect outing for families, history enthusiasts, and anyone looking for a unique day out. Feel free to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy at our peaceful picnic grove, and with your ticket valid for unlimited rides all day, you can hop on and off the trolley cars as much as you’d like. Our schedule varies between seasons and events so please check our museum schedule before visiting. We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes before your desired departure.

The museum is proudly staffed by passionate volunteers. Please note that due to the nature of our working railway, maintenance and other operations may occasionally impact the schedule, but rest assured, your day will still be filled with enriching experiences.

Our trolley cars are authentic historic artifacts, with their design predating modern accessibility standards like the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). While boarding the trolleys requires climbing a few steps, visitors with mobility challenges can still enjoy the fully accessible facilities at Sprague Station, including our indoor exhibits and restrooms.
